HIS stands for Home Improvement Salesperson license and currently four states require solar salesperson to be licensed. These four states are CA, MD, IL, and CT. it is illegal to conduct sales business without a complete and valid license. Complete all steps prior to conducting sales activity.

The Contractors State License Board (CSLB) protects California consumers by licensing and regulating the state's construction industry.

Click "Step 2: Applying for HIS Registration"to fill out the form online, then print to finalize.
You must print it out and hand write your Social Security Number on it and sign the form.

Finalize form and mail to CSLB. Include application fee, non-refundable check of $200. We recommend using a trackable shipping envelope.

Await fingerprinting instructions. CSLB will mail you instruction, approx. 1-2 weeks.

In 2-4 Weeks from your initial application, you will receive correspondence back from the CSLB in regards to you licensing approval or denial.
